On December 15, 2022, my son and I drove to Porterhouse Whitetails hunting Camp located inWashington County Alabama for the first time.   We arrived a bit early but were welcomed in with theupmost hospitality.  Our accommodations were ready and waiting for our arrival.  The accommodationswere a very cozy cabin with a view that you would never forget. It was definitely breathtaking.We were greeted as if we had known all these guys forever.  We spent time reminiscing about our deerhunts, and they shared the stories of the Porterhouse Whitetail hunts.  Not to mention the trophies theyhad hanging on the walls were also a sight to see.  These guys made us feel as if we had known them forever.

I had the pleasure of having Mr. Ritchie as a guide and my son had the pleasure of hunting with Mr.Bucky.  Let’s just say, it was much more than a hunt, it definitely was an adventure.  Whether huntingspot and stalk or out of the comfort of the shooting houses, these guys we ready.We saw lots of deer on day one and could have tagged out but day two was even better.  My son Kyleshot his biggest buck ever a 152 3/8-nch monster 10 point.  Really can’t say who was the most excited my son Kyle or Mr.Bucky.

I tagged out on the afternoon of day two with a buck of a lifetime, a 171 3/8-nch 10 point, that Mr.Ritchie called a TOAD!!!!  Definitely an experience I will never forget.

My son, Kyle and I had the time of our life with these great guys (Mr. Ritchie & Mr. Bucky) hunting,reminiscing, enjoying meals cooked on sight, huge pond views and so much more.

My son Kyle and I enjoyed spending time at Porter House Whitetails camp.  Now all we can think about is how and when can we get back to visit again.   2023 we will be back!!!

We came as strangers, became friends, & left like family!!!  Thank you all for your hospitality.

Spent the weekend with Porterhouse Whitetails, and what a fantastic adventure! Across the board and hands down, this was a first-rate experience in every way. The staff was great, the accommodations were exceptional, the food was superb, and the game was unbelievable. These guys are consummate professionals and they will exceed your expectations and deliver on every promise. The camp is teaming with every kind of wildlife imaginable. We saw wild turkey, eagles, otters, alligators and almost every kind of species native to Alabama. Even the fishing is incredible.

Where these guys really transcend though, is during the hunt itself. Within a few minutes of sitting down in the spacious shooting house, we watched a family of raccoons inspect the field. Soon after, there were deer on the greenfield; just a few does at first, and then a button buck, a four-point, and a beautiful young eight-point. We watched the two young bucks spar for what seemed like an hour before a majestic twelve-point walked onto the field, accompanied by two large does. Watching this monster was surreal. The adrenaline rush was like nothing I’ve experienced. Just before dusk, I shot a gigantic eight-point and that is where the professionalism of these guys was really on display. I pulled the shot and the deer disappeared into the thicket. Within moments, Bucky had arrived with tracking dogs with G.P.S. collars. The dogs quickly located my deer where he had fallen 2 miles away. A few minutes later, I had the pictures of my trophy before he was quickly cleaned by the staff and hanging in the freezer awaiting processing.

About an hour later, we were feasting on a buttery filet and a mouthwatering swordfish steak caught by the host. We ended the evening, sitting around the fire with friends, reliving the hunt and smoking a celebratory cigar. Ritchie and his staff provide an unrivaled experience. You will have the hunt of a lifetime and leave with stories and memories that you will treasure just as long. Five Stars. I recommend Porterhouse Whitetails without reservation.

A big thanks to Porterhouse Whitetails for the trip of a lifetime. From the moment we arrived we were treated like family by all of the incredible staff. Their knowledge and expertise is top notch. Seeing my children kill their first big whitetail deer is a day we will never forget and I know we wouldn’t have had the same experience anywhere else. I highly recommend Porterhouse Whitetails!

Fantastic experience! I could never experience this kind of hunt on my own. From start to finish this was the best hunting trip I have ever been on. The accommodations/cabins were awesome and this truly was a trip of a lifetime.
